Gskyer Telescope Manual & More

The number one complaint I hear about Gskyer telescopes is the lack of documentation. This page attempts to solve that issue. Unfortunately, I have had to improvise since they did not really make a Gskyer telescope manual or a how-to-use manual beyond the single or two-sheet quickstart guides they put in the box.

As I get the time and acquire more of them I will add resources for more telescopes. Since I am purchasing these with my own money I will have to spread these out over some time. That is unless you have one you want to let me borrow 😉

Getting started

If you are looking for more of a review of the telescope, you might look at my information page for the Gskyer 130EQ telescope.

Unboxing and general setup video for the Gskyer 130EQ :

I start with a sealed box in this video, unpack everything, and then do a quick assembly. What is in the box should be readily apparent. You will also see how they packaged the telescope. Think of this as an unboxing plus video replacement for the Gskyer telescope manual that doesn’t come in the box 🙂

It is also an excellent video for those who want to know exactly how big the telescope is, and if they can assemble it themselves. Since there is no downloadable Gskyer telescope manual with anything that would answer those questions, this should do.

Detailed assembly video for the Gskyer 130EQ :

This video is more detailed than the quick assembly of the unpacking video above. I spend a lot more time talking about how the pieces go together and why. I also give you some hints and tips along the way. If you are having trouble getting your telescope assembled, or are not sure you did it correctly, then this video is for you. If you have been looking for an improved version of the Gskyer telescope manual, this may be it.

Since this telescope uses an Equatorial Mount, EQ for short, it is substantially more complex to set up and more capable than cheaper telescopes. Setup is extremely important for these mounts so I was very surprised that there was no Gskyer telescope manual that went into the details. That’s OK, I put it all in this short video for you.

Using the telescope

How to use the Gskyer 130EQ :

Getting the telescope put together is all fine and dandy, but you may have noticed that there was no Gskyer telescope manual or guide for how to use the telescope once you get it put together. Unlike some of their lower-end refractors, this telescope really needs such an instruction manual. This is particularly true for beginners in astronomy.

This video is the Gskyer telescope manual or guide they should have included with the telescope and will help you move in the right direction.

Gskyer AZ70400 70mm and AZ80400 80mm Guide

If you are looking for more of a review of the telescope, you might look at my information page for the Gskyer AZ70400 & AZ80400 telescopes.

The AZ70400 and AZ80400 Gskyer telescopes are extremely similar. The AZ80400 has a slightly nicer tripod mount and an extra eyepiece in most kits. They work the same, include the same accessories (except the aforementioned extra eyepiece), and work exactly the same. They even come with the same little Gskyer setup guide with little to no information on how to use the telescope.

The Gskyer website is easy to navigate, I found what I needed right away. Also the Gskyer telescope is fun and easy to use, of course with a little more knowledge about how lenses work, makes it more enjoyable. Discoveries can be limitless! I love it!
